Sustainability
To us, ‘eco’ is not just some buzzword or checkbox option, it is our non-negotiable. Mediocre is not in our vocabulary; conscious, fair, and circular are. Right now, we are all-in with certified organic cotton. A clear and uncompromised choice, as it is also kind to the young, sensitive skin.
Fast, cheap fashion has taken a toll with practices that are anything but gentle to our planet. Think toxic pesticides, foul chemicals, enormous amounts of wasteful water - we can't stand by that. We are fed up with the environmental neglect and disrespect. That is why all our materials and processes are constantly checked to ensure that they are friendly to the earth. Given that the quality, longevity, and eco-friendliness of our materials depend on numerous factors, including the kind of fibre, yarn blends, yarn structure, fabric makeup, dyeing and finishing, we meticulously choose our raw material sources and their qualities.
We commit to our pillars at all stages of production:
Being just another baby & kids brand on the block is not our thing. Every item we create comes from hours of love, dedication and hard work. From cotton farmers to the heroes sewing our threads, everyone’s contribution is invaluable. We are on a journey, not claiming perfection, but steadfast in making a difference every single day.
We produce in Turkey. Thanks to our co-founder, Murat, we have built strong ties in this textile-rich country. And here’s the thing - Turkey excels not just in cotton cultivation but manages every step of the supply chain. This allows us to keep a close eye, ensuring quality and sustainability. Our partners aren't massive corporate entities; they are family-owned suppliers, deeply rooted in craftsmanship. We lean towards smaller, eco-conscious groups who share our vision. Notably, we collaborate with local women's cooperatives, where each garment is a mark of empowerment. Every partner we work with is thoroughly checked and GOTS certified. Our focus is not just on the now; it is about shaping a lasting, sustainable legacy together.
We really care about having a clear supply chain. We want to know where our stuff comes from and who’s making it. Every item we make takes a lot of time and hard work. To make sure we are doing right by people and the planet, we’ve got to know the full story of our clothes. That is why being close to and in touch with our makers is a big deal for us. They are at the heart of everything we do. We want everyone who works with us to get what we are all about and what we are trying to achieve. This is why it is super important that our partners look at how they do things and make them better, with a little help from us and the network we are part of.
In a nutshell, our supply chain is:
Quite a bit. We believe it's crucial to keep a close, personal connection with our suppliers. So, we go beyond just showrooms – we're out there in the cotton fields and sewing ateliers. But it's not just a work thing. It's about building trust, learning from each other, and growing together. And, when we make these trips, we pack them full. We try to get as much done as possible in a week, for example. We don't just hop on a plane back and forth without good reason. Plus, we combine these trips with family visits, making sure we make the most of our time there. We're always thinking about our impact – from CO2 to relationships – and we do our best to tread lightly and make every visit count.
Good basics are timeless, meant to be loved and worn throughout their fast-growing years. We don’t do sales because the value of an item doesn’t drop with the seasons. It remains as precious as the little ones wearing them. Our items are there when you need them for your kid or as a conscious gift. If an item becomes a parent-favourite, we’ll make sure to restock. Our standing advice to you: choose with care. Pick only what your kid will need and love, and then maintain it well. And when you feel they've outgrown them? Check out our give-back program - return items and get 20% in credits. This thoughtful approach is at the heart of sustainability.
GOTS, or Global Organic Textile Standard, is a certification of the International Working Group on Organic Textile Standards (IWG) and is one of the strictest standards for organically produced natural fibres like organic cotton. It sets criteria that guarantee a socially responsible and ecologically sustainable production of textiles. From harvesting raw materials to final processing. Adherence to this standard is verified annually by an autonomous certification body. All our producers, across the entire supply chain, undergo this annual evaluation.
Delivery
You can find a comprehensive list of countries we ship to right here.
For detailed shipping costs to various countries, please refer to our shipping costs overview here. NOTE: When shipping outside the EU, there may be additional costs or customs duties. These charges aren't set by us and we cannot control them directly.
If you place your order on a working day before 2:00 PM, we'll ship it the very same day, provided we have the item in stock and after credit verification. For those in the Netherlands who order before this time, you can typically expect to receive your package the next working day. If you've opted for prepayment as your payment method, we'll send out your order after your payment has been processed. For delivery timeframes outside the Netherlands, kindly check here.
We truly appreciate your enthusiasm! However, our operations in Amsterdam focus on product design, our online store, and pioneering circular ideas.
Sorry for the inconvenience. If the parcel service returned your order to us, the reason is often detailed in the tracking. We won't be able to ship the same order back to you. Any payments made for undelivered orders will be refunded. We'd appreciate it if you could reorder via our web store.
The specific pick-up point should be identifiable in your tracking details. Generally, DHL leaves a note. If you haven't received this, it's advisable to reach out to DHL.
Netherlands: DHL, DHL Go Green
Other EU countries: DHL International
If any items are missing from your order, several reasons could be behind it. We may have had to unexpectedly cancel an item; if so, you should've received an email from us.
Returns
If an item isn't quite right, you can send it back to us within 30 days of receipt. Items should be unworn and in their original packaging. The return should be done at your own expense to the following address:
YoungYarn
Att: Returns
Wouwermanstraat 6-3
1071 LX Amsterdam
Netherlands
We recommend sending your return with tracking, ensuring peace of mind in case of any issues.
Here's how to process your return:
Our return fee has two main reasons. First, it helps us handle the costs that come with returns. A lot of companies might hide these costs in their product prices and say they have "free returns", but we like to be clear and honest. Second, we hope this fee makes our customers stop and think a bit more when they're buying, so that our items end up in homes where they'll be truly loved, especially when picking things out for our kids.
When processing your refund, the return fee will be deducted from the total. For example, if the return fee in your country is €4,95 and you have an order total of €100, after returning all items, you'll receive a refund of €95,05 (€100 minus €4,95).
Once we've received your package from the Netherlands, we'll send an email notification. For international returns, you can track its status with the tracking number provided.
Send it back as you would with a regular return, marking ‘Item damaged’ as the return reason. For further assistance, contact us at hello@youngyarn.com. For such cases, no return fee will be applied.
We appreciate the thought, but our main office focuses on design and online operations. It's best to send returns through the post.
After receiving your returned items, we aim to process refunds within 7 days.
For clarity, we ask for sending returns separately. This ensures each returned item is correctly associated with its order.
Tips to reduce returns
Even though returns can't always be avoided, here are some ways to reduce them:
If you miss the 30-day window for returns, you can check out our Give Back Program for further options.
Preloved
Pre-loved items are clothes that have been worn before, either returned through our Give Back Program or used in our photoshoots. Each one is carefully checked to ensure it's in good condition and ready for a new journey.
Kids grow incredibly fast. In fact, they typically outgrow 11 sizes in just 4 years! Often, they wear new clothes only two or three times before needing a bigger size. By offering pre-loved items, we're giving these clothes a second chance and helping to cut down on waste. It's a step towards a more sustainable way of looking at kids wear.
Our pre-loved items are already priced to provide you with the best value. As such, they're exempt from additional discounts, including influencer or newsletter codes. We encourage you to explore our pre-loved collection, knowing you're getting a great deal and supporting circular shopping.
Rental
- Getting Started: Setting up is easy. Just create an account, and explore our collection to pick the items that catch your eye.
- Choosing Your Items: Pick individual items or customize a plan that's right for you. No matter what you select, you'll never pay more than the item’s retail price.
- Delivery: Your choices will be delivered by DHL in our sustainable Re-Pack packaging. Keep the Re-Pack handy; you'll use it for swapping later.
- Enjoy: Once the clothes are on, your kids are good to go. Our Rental Insurance has got you covered for all those unpredictable little events - from weaning stains and crawling wear (and the occasional poonami!).
- Ready to swap? Kids grow. When it's time for a new size, simply go to 'Rentals' in your account and hit 'Swap.' Order new items and use the return label from your original or new package to send back what you no longer need. Every swapped item meets our cleanliness standards.
- Making the Swap: Remember that Re-Pack? Fill it up with the items you’re returning, add the return label and security seal sticker, and post it to us within 5 days after initiating the swap.
That's our system - straightforward and designed to fit your needs. We appreciate your feedback; it guides our improvements. And remember, if you're unsure about something, we’re here to help.
We're in the business of shaking up the status quo, and that starts with reducing waste. Kids rapidly outgrow their clothing —11 sizes in 4 years (size 50-104). This fast turnover has a substantial environmental cost. Though we’re fine-tuning our precise environmental savings, renting greatly reduces CO2 emissions and water usage. We aim to change the way you think about kids’ clothes, for the planet, your space, and your finances.
Room to Breathe In Your Home

Affordable Sustainability
We believe in sustainability that suits every budget. Starting at 24 euros a month, you can provide quality circular clothes for your kid. Budgeting is easy with our flat monthly fee, and individual items start at just 4.80 euros.
No, you don't. We understand kids grow rapidly, so we've designed our service for flexibility. Rent clothes for as short as a month or as long as you need. Simply swap out the items when your child outgrows them. Most families tend to keep each bundle for around 3 months. But if your kid uses their clothes for a longer span, there's no need to hurry. We advocate for conscious choices – so renew your bundle when it genuinely feels right to move to the next size up, considering both your kid's needs and the environment.
Yes, every item you see is available to rent.
Yes. After receiving your item, you have 5 days to decide on a return. If you send it back within this period, we'll refund the first month's rent.
When you're ready to return items, go to your account and mark the items. Then pause or cancel.
Give Back Program
For every item you send back to us (excluding rentals), you'll earn a 20% Give Back Credit. Once received, the credits will be added to your account.
You can find them in the 'Give Back' section under 'My Account'.
No. We cover the shipping costs for all Give Back returns to make it convenient for you.
Certainly! Create your account and follow the Give Back process. Sharing the name of the person who gifted it to you will help us identify the original purchase.
Once we've received your returned items, the credits will be added to your account immediately. If you're returning from within the Netherlands, we anticipate receiving your items within 1-2 days. For international returns, the time frame depends on courier services, but rest assured, your credits will be processed as soon as we get the items.
We're committed to giving each item a second, third, fourth, or even fifth life! Depending on its condition, we may:
All our products are designed with circularity in mind, ensuring they stay out of landfills.
No, they don't. Use them at your own pace; they're there whenever you need them.
For a full refund, items can be returned within the first 30 days of purchase. After that window, you can still return them anytime and receive the 20% Give Back Credits.
We only accept returns of items originally from YoungYarn.
Absolutely. While we hope you'll take care of your clothes—following care instructions, washing below 30°C, and avoiding dryers—it's okay if life happens. Every returned item earns credits.
Product Quality & Safety
Absolutely. Every item is checked by us to make sure it meets our quality standards. If it doesn't, we recycle its material to create new items.
We focus on offering products made with care and attention to detail. Durable products mean less waste and more sustainability.
